Two Van Camp’s employees are eating lunch in the staff commissary.
One has a large plate of baked beans, the other a jar of peanut butter and a spoon. A large, burley sort of fellow clumsily trips and dashes the employee’s lunches into a singularity. The one says to the other: “You got your baked beans into my peanut butter” the other says “you got your peanut butter into my baked beans.”
They continued eating, and lo, the ceiling transforms into a painting by Veronese. Seraphim and Cherubim tumble forth, chords swell, and the two dash to the advertising or home economics department to share their Eureka moment.
Thus, it is dueling pistols at dawn in a battle of legume supremacy for this installment. Will Beans (a legume) and Peanuts (also a legume) marry or murder in this Supper Snack which involves VAN CAMP’S Baked Beans, peanut butter and corned beef. Yes, well, if nothing else, the dish is not lacking in protein.
